H2-river-boat

With the further expansion of onshore and offshore wind energy, the range of renewable energy sources will increase, and integrated energy will become more important. Hydrogen as a transportation fuel, generated via electrolysis from renewable energy sources, will pave the way to zero-emission mobility. As part of the Interreg Europe’s MariGreen project, a feasibility study is being conducted to analyse if an emission-free drive concept based on hydrogen can be used in an inland vessel. In addition to the technical aspects (drive unit, storage, and bunkering), the economic conditions and the legal framework for hydrogen-operated inland vessels are being analysed. The purpose of the feasibility study is to create a basis for a subsequent implementation stage.
